3/23/2023 0 Comments Fltplan go android sid![]() The Tools panel was showing GPS and traffic data in raw text form. Suddenly, Avare came alive with ADS-B signals. (which I thought was discontinued and no longer required). Next, I started the old Avare External I/O app Clearly, Avare was not connecting even though the Stratus 3Į. There was no traffic beingĭisplayed either. But I saw no sign of signals from the Stratus. Next, I Force Stopped FltplanGo, and openedĪvare. Now it was reporting that it had successfully connected to the Stratusģ, and was showing information such as pings, uptime etc…ĭ. Then, I Force Stopped iFlyGPS and opened FltplanGoĪgain. It was “Waiting for Device”, even though it had managed to switch the Stratus 3Ĭ. The Horizon Pro app I wouldn’t have known this, because iFlyGPS still kept saying Stratus Horizon Pro app had toggled the Open ADS-B Mode switch to ON. It kept saying “Waiting for Device”, but I noticed that the Setup->ADS-B->Options->Change Selected Device, I enabled Auto-Detect Mode on the Stratus Horizon Pro remained in the OFF position. Restarting, changing the External Device to something else and then back to Including turning the Stratus off and back on, Force Stop the FltplanGo app and The message “Connecting” and never completed the connection. Then I went to External->Devices->Stratus 3. I connected to the Stratus wifi, and startedįltplanGo. This is the mode it will default to when someone else connectsĪ. I ran the Stratus Horizon Pro app on the iPadĪnd verified that the Stratus 3 was on the latest firmware. But I do have a few questions at the end if anyone has some insights.ġ. Is what I did to finally converge on the solution. To get it all to work (the process is different between Samsung and the Motorola). I also borrowed by kid's iPad to run Stratus Horizon Pro app. Of time this weekend examining the compatibility between Stratus 3, Avare,įltplanGo, and iFlyGPS on my Samsung Galaxy as well as my Motorola MotoG7 phone. Once or twice it seemed I had to exit Avare and restart it to connect if I had changed the mode while Avare was running.Īll of this said, it would still be nice to have a utility or option in Avare to enable Open Mode without an iPhone or FPGo. Turning power off on the S3i and then back on the S3i stayed in open mode.Ī couple of asides: If i turned open mode off while FPgo was running I had to select another external device and then go back to Stratus to enable open mode. Because I was in the hangar I was getting a GPS signal but not a valid position. Starting Avare and selecting GPS I/O Module then going to ‘Tools’ Traffic messages were streaming in and the ‘No GPS Signal’ message is NOT displayed. Exiting FPGo does NOT change the state of the S3i. When the Selected Device shows Stratus 3 and the connection shows Active the ‘Received messages’ counter starts to increase indicating all is well. With open mode off I was able to use FPGo to select ‘Stratus 3’ on the external tab. Using the iPhone and SHP I was able to monitor the status and toggle the state of open mode on the S3i. Wifi set to Stratus3i000xxx (x is serial number of S3i) ( IP is 10.30.40.x) Wifi connected to Stratus3i000xxx (x is serial number of S3i) ( IP is 10.30.40.x) IPhone running “Stratus Horizon Pro” version 2.5.0. Stratus 3i with firmware version 1.1.0.14 Stratus 3i open Mode can be set with Flight Plan Go and then works with Avare.Īfter sitting in the airplane in the hangar for about an hour of testing today I can positively confirm that the current version of FlightPlan Go can set the Stratus 3i to “Open Mode” GDL90! While it definitely works, there are a lot of variables that can make it confusing to determine the state. ![]()
